New reference e-book: Choose the pose options that work best for your practice and your teaching
Imagine that you are planning tomorrow’s class and you want to work with the upper back, specifically the area between the shoulder blades. Which movements would be good for that? And which poses can you add them to? Or a student mentions her painful shoulder, and the version of the pose you had in mind is suddenly off the table. Whether we are planning the practice ahead of time, or modifying it on the fly, it helps to know what options we have for each yoga pose.
That’s what the Yoga Pose Adaptations e-book is for. This 175-page reference guide covers the theory of pose adaptation and gives an extensive overview of 35 common yoga poses.

Part 1 lays out the theory behind adaptations: what yoga poses are actually for, which alignment points are important, why we repeat a pose before we hold it, how fascia responds to the way we habitually move, and the six main ways we can adapt any yoga pose.
Part 2 is the working reference. It features 35 pose chapters, and each chapter includes the key alignment points of the pose, why we do it, how to do it, how to bring it to life with the breath, and a full collection of pose adaptations. Every adaptation is represented by an image, a name, and a short description of what it is and what it is used for.

A link and a QR code at the top of the list lead to a webpage with videos of those adaptations.
